Pisang Peak Climbing
Overview
Pisang Peak climbing combines with trekking to famous Annapurna region and summiting Pisang peak of 6091 meter height. The peak towers over the yak Pastures of Pisang village. The summit forms a pyramid shape therefore the summit is carried out from the southeast. This climb is perfect for those who dream of climbing peak with suitable stamina and good physical conditions.
To climb Pisang peak, we travel road-head to Besisahar then to Syange. From here we start walking following Marsyangdi river and famous Annapurna Circuit trail. The trail leads us to Pisang Village then to base camp of Pisang peak. We set up camp as per decision of team for summit purpose. After summit, we return passing Thorung-pass and Muktinath to Jomsom. From Jomsom, we fly to Pokhara and drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 01- Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal! Visit Nepal 2020 representative will meet you at the airport and bring you to your hotel in Kathmandu. You can take a rest or if you are arriving earlier, can visit around the city.
In the evening we will hold a briefing session regarding your trip and get to know your Nepali trekking companion. We’ll be happy to answer any question you may have. O/N Hotel.
Day 2- Sightseeing trip / Trek preparation
Kathmandu valley is has fantastic UNESCO world heritages all around. Today after the breakfast, you’ll be visiting Boudhanath Stupa (the largest Buddhist shrines in the world), Pashupatinath (the holiest Hindu temple in the world), Durbar Squares (Palaces and fortresses of medieval Kings). The lifestyle of the Nepalese people, holy sadhus and monks, the fascinating history and the awe-inspiring architecture will be the highlight of this day. Day 03 – Drive to Besisahar(830m). 7 hrs
After morning breakfast, our staff will come at your hotel to pick you up. We drive around 7 hrs to reach Besisahar, a famous point for starting all the Annapurna area trek. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Day 04 – Drive to Syange (1100m), Trek to Chamje (1700m).5 hrs
We leave Besishar early in the morning and drive till Syangje. Our walking now starts with downhill and steep start as we reach Bahundanda. We can see roaring waterfall while crossing over suspension bridge above Marsyangdi river. The trail of river will guide through village of Jagat before finally ending todays journey till Chamje. Day 05 – Chamje to Baggarchaap (2160m). 5.5 hrs
The day begins with the rocky trail following the Marsyandi Rivers steadily uphill to Tal at 1675m, the first village in the Manang district. We make a trail verse crossing a wide, flat valley. The trail then climbs a stone stairway to 1860m till another stairway. The journey continues making up and down to Dharapani at 1890m. There we find a stone entrance chorten typical of the Tibetan influenced villages from here northwards. We then visit the Bagarchhap at 2160m that offers the typical flat roofed stone houses of local Tibetans design although the village which is still in the transition Zone before the dry highlands. Day 06 – Baggarchaap to Chame (2670m). 6 HRS
With often rough and rocky, the trail climbs to Tyanja at 2360m, & then continues through forest, but near the river, to Kopar at 2590m. As we reach the Chame, the headquarters of the Manang district, we are rewarded by the fine views of Annapurna II as you approach Chame & two small hot springs by the town.O/N Lodge (BLD)
Day 07 – Chame to Upper Pisang (3700m). 4 hrs
The day starts through deep forest in a steep and narrow valley, crosses a river on a long bridge at 2910m. We then cross another bridge at 3040m, from there the view of the soaring Paungda Danda rock face really begins to appear. From there the trail joins to climb to Pisang, which sprawls between 3000m & 3300m. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Day 08 – Rest in Upper Pisang

Day 09 – Upper Pisang to Pisang Peak Base camp (4380m) 5hrs
The trail pass through thin forest and grassland as we ascend. We’ll set up camp in flat yak grazing pasture as base camp. O/N Camping (BLD)
Day 10 – Pisang BC to High camp (5400m) 4hrs
We ascend through south-west ridge. Our guide will provide pre climbing training in afternoon to boost confidence and climbing skills. O/N Camping (BLD)
Day 11 – Summit Pisang peak and back to base camp (6091m)
Big day today as we’ll summit Pisang peak. The trail will mostly be on rocky surface without much snow. Climbing Sherpa will fix 20m rope to climb ridge. Just near to summit is 70 degree slope which requires 200m rope. After summiting and viewing magnificent Annapurna range view we get back to base camp.
Day 12 – Contingency day
Day 13 – Pisang Base camp to Manang (3450m) 6 hrs
We descend to Pisang village. Then continue walking through the drier upper part of the Manang district for 5-6 hour and reach Manang village. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Day 14 – Manang to Yak Kharka (4110m). 4 hrs
Our todays journey is till Yak Kharka, meaning yak grazing area with lots of vegetation. Our trail ascends steep 500m through Tenki of Manang exiting Marsyangdi valley. We continue along with Jarshang Khola valley reaching Yak Kharka. O/N Teahouse (BLD)
Day 15 – Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450m). 3.5 hrs
We climb for two hours climb then descending to cross the river. Then again gain altitude with uphill until reaching Thorong Phedi. We rest then here well so that we could start early in the morning tomorrow to cross Thorung la pass. O/N Teahouse (BLD)
Day 16 – Thorong Phedi to Muktinath crossing Thorung la pass (5416m). 6.5 hrs
The journey from Phedi “foot of the hill” or at the foot to the 5416m Thorung La pass, begins the day. We then make the climb steeply that is regularly used and easy to follow. However, the problem may arise due to the altitude and snow. It often causes terrible problem to cross the pass if it is covered by snow. About four hours climb up to the pass marked by the chortens & prayer flags. As you reach the top, you are rewarded by the magnificent view from the top. O/N Lodge (BLD)
Day 17 – Early morning drive Muktinath to Jomsom. Fly to Pokhara
Early in the morning we drive from Muktinath to Jomsom for catching flight onwards to Pokhara.
It is all up to you visiting different places around Pokhara valley such as Fewa Lake, Devi’s water fall, Museum, Tibetan refugee settlement, Gupteshower cave and many more places as per the choice. O/N Hotel (B)
Day 18 – Drive Pokhara to Kathamndu
It takes 7hrs long drive along Trisuli river and various settlements to get back to Kathmandu.
You can spend time resting/buying souvenirs back to home. In the evening, we will host farewell dinner in traditional restaurant with cultural dance performances in celebration of your amazing trip. O/N Hotel (BD)
Day 19 – Trip ends. Farewell and departure
The journey in the mountains of Nepal comes to an end today ! At last approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight, a representative from Ramdung Expedition will drop you to the airport. (B)
