The Mt Everest Fashion Runway – A Unique Environment-Friendly Show

The Mt Everest Fashion Runway sustainable and bio-degradable fashion runway initiated by clothing brand Kasa to let the world know about sustainability and bio-degradable clothing. The Earth is been polluted by the fast fashion globally resulting the contamination of the water table bed and polluting the water bodies.

The Mt Everest Fashion Runway has several components which gives the world a message of a sustainable trek in the Himalayas. Fifteen International Models and Celebrities and five Models from Nepal are contributing by walking on the highest ramp of the world with Kasa for the climate change  for the eco-friendly fashion show on Kala Patthar (near Mt Everest base camp at 5643 meters above sea level). The Kasa team will trek from Lukla to Kala Patthar which will take them 9 days to reach Kala Patthar. On the trek the team will be using the technology like Clensta waterless bath and Clensta waterless shampoo to save 8000 liters of water during the trek. The team will use pro-biotic detergent and dish bar during the trek so that they can leave no chemical behind. The packaging of the pro-biotic products are 100% biodegradable. The pro-biotic technology is been supported by Aurea center, Auroville to Kasa. This is a initiate towards wasting water and contaminating water in the Himalayas where water is the most precious natural resource for the local people living there.

The Eco friendly garment line by Kasa will be introduced on Kala Patthar in which the fabric used is sustainable and bio-degradable. The material used in the garments are felt (hand made by wool locally) and pashmina. The backdrop of the presentation on Kala Patthar is made up of the felt material which is a Made in Nepal product.

A documentary will be shoot during the entire eco-friendly journey of the Models and Celebrities. The one time use AA battery used in cameras and microphone system will be brought down to Kathmandu and will be handed over to the Municipality to dispose it off in a proper manner. The documentary is made for MTV USA, Canada and Caribbean territory. After it is broadcasted in the before said territories, Himalayan TV HD will broadcast it in Nepal and followed by the Kasa youtube channel. The documentary will be available in flight entertainment section of our official airline partner.

Kasa also pledges to balance the carbon created by our international guests to reach Kathmandu by planting the trees. The initiative will be taken ahead by our various partners in Kathmandu.

Kasa is also backed up by Visit Nepal 2020 as The Mt Everest Fashion Runway will be a annual event and will attract the tourists from the fashion industry from whole over world every year.

The whole idea of using the solar, pro-biotic, waterless bath and biodegradable fabrics during the Mt Everest eco friendly trek and presentation is to save Himalayas and water bodies for future generation. If the Himalayas are protected, the melting of glacier will slow down resulting in delaying in the climate change and lesser damage to the cities which are on the verge of extinction.

Lets join hands together against climate change and ignite this mission for a safer World.
