KATHMANDU, Feb 04: The Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), the organization of trekking agencies, said Nepal is safe from the corona virus. In a statement released on Tuesday, TAAN said that although the impact is severe in China, tourists should not worry too much.
Due to the prolonged outbreak of the corona virus infection, tourists from around the world, especially to China, have been warned. “Serious efforts are being made to prevent the virus from spreading”, TAAN said in the release adding , “despite the fact that some of the conditions are serious due to the infection with common cold, tourists should not be alarmed.”
The Ministry of Health is co-operating with the Ministry of Tourism in Nepal. “According to the same effort, a separate health desk has been set up at Tribhuvan Airport and vigilance has been taken at the border crossing, and four hospitals have already set up special units for it,” TAAN said.
“There was only one person infected with the virus and he was discharged from the hospital”, TAAN said. TAAN also vowed to make all tourism this year successful, saying that Nepal is safe.
